Angelina Valentine: cosmetology and personal style
Valentine’s interviews connect her interest in appearance with practical study and her own design choices.
Choosing cosmetology
In her conversation with Adam Wilcox, Valentine said cosmetology had not been a long-held plan. She enrolled while thinking about her future and found she enjoyed it. She described twelve-hour school days on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, alongside her performing work.
Hair, makeup and fashion
Speaking with Peter Warren in September 2011, she explained that she wanted to become a stylist. Fashion shows and hair and makeup for film sets interested her, including work outside adult productions. In the Wilcox interview, she said people were drawn to her own look and asked about her beauty work. Her description centred on skills she was developing and the possibilities they might open.
Designing a sleeve
She told Warren that she had designed the elements of her tattoo sleeve herself. A friend who worked as a tattoo artist helped create it, and she said the design held personal meaning. In the same interview, she described becoming more organised to balance study and work. Completing her course was still a goal she was working towards in that conversation.
